Endowment is philanthropy’s cornerstone at Friendship Village of Columbus (FVC) ensuring that promising programs and projects will have steady support. FVC has two endowments to which you can contribute either cash gifts or gifts through your estate plan.
Friendship Village of Columbus General Endowment: The return from this endowment is distributed to FVC’S priorities as directed by our Board of Trustees. One year the income may be paired with a capital campaign to enhance our campus. Another year, the return could be expended to buy necessary equipment for our Health Center.
Friendship Village of Columbus Hardship Fund (to support hardship expense): Income from this endowment, established by our resident body, helps to defray costs for those residents who have outlived their resources. Once a resident is a part of our community they are never turned away do to economic difficulty.
The lasting impact of Friendship Village of Columbus’ endowments will be strengthened by gifts through your will or estate plan. All of the below vehicles could help you and your heirs to maximize income and minimize estate taxes. When you make your planned gift known to us you will become a member of our FVC Heritage Society.
- Bequests through will commitments of cash or property and retirement plan designations cost nothing now, yet will give you satisfaction to know that your future gift will live on.
- Lifetime Income Plans such as charitable gifts annuities guarantee lifetime income and the remainder of the annuity can help build FVC’s future. Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts, Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, Gifts of Real Estate with a retained Life Estate, and Charitable Lead Trusts can also provide lifetime income to you or to your heirs.
- Paid up Life Insurance Policies often provide you with income tax reductions and help to smoothly fund FVC’s endowments.
Our development staff is available to help you with your planned giving inquiries and can help you find a philanthropic solution to an economic challenge while fulfilling your desire to help FVC. Contact our Director of Development at 614-568-0282.
